I see crashes in the Console App. under 10.2.3. Why?

If you are running the Console application in 10.2.3, you may see a crash with “fix_prebinding”. The fix_prebinding process runs in the background and adds information to applications that allows them to launch more quickly.

We’re still trying to track down the exact cause of the problem, but it appears to be a bug in the 10.2.3 software update (and has been reported to Apple.)

You can fix the problem by running the following from a Terminal window:

  • cd /Applications (or wherever you keep the iPulse application) update_prebinding -force -files iPulse.app/Contents/MacOS/iPulse

This command does the prebinding manually so you shouldn’t see any more errors in the logs.
